What you can do on an e-Visa
- Meet clients, partners and suppliers.
- Attend conferences, trade fairs and training as a participant.
- Visit factories, offices or project sites.
- Research the market and look for investment opportunities.
What you cannot do
You cannot take paid employment or work for a Vietnamese company on an e-Visa. Longer assignments, management roles and hands-on technical work normally need a work permit, which your employer in Vietnam applies for. Working without one can lead to fines and removal.
Tips for business travellers
- Choose multiple entry if you will visit Vietnam several times within 90 days.
- Carry an invitation letter or meeting schedule from your Vietnamese contact in case immigration asks.
- Fly in for a last-minute meeting? Urgent and emergency processing can issue your e-Visa within hours.
